Important US Notions

1)   The use of TCS services implies respecting the term of payment for doctor’s appointments and outpatient care (15 days from day of reception).

2)   According to the Federal law, each patient is responsible for their bill, even if they have insurance (American or other). Therefore, if you do not respect the payment delay imposed by TCS, YOU WILL BE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BILL, without any possible discount.

3)   No coverage, does not mean no refund. In case of  non-covered care, you will have to pay up front (either to TCS or directly to the doctor) and ask your French  Insurance / secondary insurance (mutuelle) for a refund.

4)   Coverage does not mean anything to pay. It means that you do not have to pay up front in the US. However, your French Insurance / secondary insurance (mutuelle) can require a co-payment. You need to check with them.

Important Notice according to your contract: « Coverage may not be complete. How much your insurance will cover, depends on the cost of the care. Therefore, some fees may be yours if they exceed the limit that has been set by your insurance. In this case, you will have to pay the fees.»

5)   Should you get a payment notice from TCS while you have paid the doctor directly, it will be your responsibility to give proof of your payment, so TCS can void this bill.

6)   When it comes to health care, you are under the French Social Security system.
Exemple :

-      In case of a pregnancy, only 3 ULTRASOUNDS are authorized

-      Physical therapy requested or done by a chiropractor will not be refunded.

This is not an exhaustive list!!!

In order to take advantage of the best refunds, you need to use the network. See your card or go to www.travelcareservices.com, and click on network.

TCS can answer some questions, but your French Insurance / secondary insurance (mutuelle) and/or your social security center can really confirm which care will be refunded and how much will be refunded.

7)  Because your French Social Security covers you 100% does not mean that you will have the same coverage in the US. You need to check with them.

8)  At the beginning of your pregnancy do not forget to send us, within 3 months, a pregnancy certificate with the due date. As soon as you give birth, do not forget to send your French Insurance / secondary inusurance (mutuelle) a birth certificate (You have a month).

9)   Some cases need a prior contact with a social security doctor in order to have an agreement; because you are in the US does not mean you can skip this step. (Check with your French Insurance (mutuelle) or with your social security center).

10)   In order to open a file due to a serious illness, we need your doctor to cooperate with medical files and other documents.
